Why does the church always as for money?

Why does the church need money?

I don't go to church because all they want is my money!

These are all common questions and statements heard regularly by pastors and church members alike.  The questions are good ones that deserve a response.

The bottom line is that the church has bills like any other organization!  We need to pay the electric and gas bills and keep the building in working order.  We also need to provide learning materials for our classes and activities for our children.  We need to finance assistance for our community through our food pantry and holiday food boxes and outreach to our community through Vacation Bible School, Child Evangelism Fellowship, etc.  All of these take money!

Please know that we will never ASK you for money.  Yes, we take an offering each week during our Sunday service and we offer online giving her, however all giving should be done of one's own free will and not out of a sense of obligation.
